The
Villa Augustina School, a NEASC-accredited, Catholic elementary and junior high
school five miles west of Manchester, New Hampshire, seeks a visionary and
energetic principal to provide academic leadership for a school that is
undergoing the transition to becoming an independent, lay-run Catholic school
following a 90-year history as a school run by The Religious of Jesus and Mary.
The ideal candidate will be an innovative educator and supportive,
inspiring leader who will be responsible for bringing an involved, enthusiastic
community of students, teachers and parents through the complex process of
transition. Candidates will have a proven ability in leading a small,
academically rigorous school that emphasizes its Catholic identity and the development of
children's character, independence and creativity.
Qualifications:
- A Catholic who is committed to the school mission and to Catholic education
- At least 5 years administrative experience, and, preferably, additional
experience as a teacher
- Master's degree in administration, supervision or curriculum
- State principal certification, its equivalent or eligibility for this
certification
- Experience in increasing enrollment while maintaining the school's high
standards for academics and attentive, expert teaching
- The ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, parents, and a Board
of Trustees
- Experience in state learning standards and the accreditation process
- Experience with school finance and fundraising
- Demonstrated competency in curriculum, faculty, staff and resource development
