Merrimack Basketball League
The 2007-2008 schedules for the Merrimack Basketball League have
been posted. If you would like to show your support for the Saints, please
feel free to attend a game and cheer for the blue and white. Click on a

Teamwork, Great Attitude Led the Saints to Outstanding Record!

The Jr High Girls basketball team finished their season as "runners-up" in the Merrimack Basketball League "A"/Upper (7-8 girls) division. Their league record was an outstanding 12-2 overall, and at 11-1 they were the regular season champions. 2008 marks the 3rd straight year this group of athletes has taken home 1st or 2nd place banners in either the 5-6 or 7-8 grade leagues! The Saints also finished 19-8 overall, including some very tough tournament play at the SportsZone Holiday Tournament, the state CYO Catholic Schools Tournament, and the St. Paul's February Tournament. The team had big wins during the season including wins vs. MountainView, Henniker-A, a playoff win over Hillsboro-A, a very exciting comeback win against (then undefeated ICB-1), and a 2-1 record with 3 very exciting and close games at the St Paul's tourney. This years Saints continued to improve throughout the year, and impressed opponents and fans alike with their teamwork, positive effort and 'never-quit' attitude- each of which was on brilliant display in the CYO tournament, in the ICB and FMS 'comeback' games, and in the MBL Championship game. Great job and thanks to our outstanding 8th graders: Taylor Giammarino, Katy Richardson, Elaina Lavigne, Emily Barrett, and Abi Piergross- Villa basketball will miss you! Super job to our group of excellent 7th graders: Jill Gilman, Meghan Callanan, Meaghan Tosi, Rosalie Edmonds, Abbey Olson, Emma Olson, Kisten Vaillancourt, and Alyssa Mann- play some hoops and get ready for next year! The Saints would like to thank the parents and our great Villa fans and for their support this year!!!!
