Introduction
The Villa School Volunteer Program (VSVP) was established to support faculty and staff utilization of volunteers and to promote recognition activities for volunteers. The Villa WELCOMES all parents, family members, and other community members to join our team of volunteers supporting the teachers, staff and students of Villa Augustina School.
The faculty, administration and Home & School Association have lots of ideas to improve our school community. You can be a part of these exciting endeavors and make the Villa a better place for our children to attend school.
Your involvement can entail daily participation in the activities of the school or a couple of hours at a special event. You can bake for a class party, chaperone a dance, sell tickets at our Annual Penny Sale, or assist a teacher in the classroom. Whatever your involvement, it makes a difference. There are a number of dedicated volunteers who have accomplished a lot in the past. We welcome you to be a part of this great group of volunteers.
If you would like to become a Villa Volunteer, complete a Volunteer
Sign-up Form and we will do our best to match your interest and availability with the needs of your children's teachers or other Villa staff members. Even if you can only give a few hours, that's fine, we need everyone's help.
In past years, Villa Augustina welcomed over a hundred
and twenty volunteers who donated a total of over 4600 hours of service. We know our numbers are even greater because we know a "few" volunteers who
"forgot" to log in their hours.

NHPIE Blue Ribbon Achievement Award
NH Partners in Education (NHPIE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of education in New Hampshire through school volunteerism and community involvement. NHPIE helps establish, implement and strengthen volunteer programs for schools and their communities.
Annually, NHPIE recognizes a school's outstanding volunteer program with the
Blue Ribbon Achievement Award. There were 184 schools receiving the award for
last year.
"The Award", co-sponsored by NH Partners in Education (NHPIE) and the NH Dept. of Education, provides recognition for those schools whose cooperative efforts with their respective communities have yielded outstanding volunteer programs.
Schools receiving the award must meet nine criteria including:
-
An organized volunteer program with an identified coordinator
-
Four times the number of hours as there are students in the school
-
Orientation for teachers
-
Orientation and training for volunteers
-
Established goals for the program
-
Systematic evaluation of the program
-
Appropriate recognition of volunteers
Villa Augustina was awarded the Blue Ribbon Application for the 2000-2001
school year.
We are confident the extraordinary efforts of our volunteers will
continue to be recognized by the State of NH and NHPIE in 2002 and beyond!
